Program Options

TK or Kindergarten?

Both programs provide a full school-day experience. The best starting point depends on your child’s age, development, and individual needs.

Transitional Kindergarten

A free, two-year kindergarten experience that gives eligible students additional time to build foundational skills before Kindergarten.

  • Designed for children turning five between June 1 and December 1
  • Full-day program following the elementary calendar and bell schedule
  • Supports confidence, independence, language, motor, social-emotional, and academic development
  • Includes art, media, music, and physical education
  • School placement depends on annual interest, enrollment, and available capacity

Kindergarten

A full-day program that builds strong academic, social, and independence skills while helping children become confident members of the school community.

  • For children who are five years old by September 1
  • Early-entry requests are available for children turning five between September 2 and December 1
  • Includes literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, art, music, media, and physical education
  • Current RCS TK students automatically transition to their home-school Kindergarten program
  • Classroom placement is completed by the elementary school

Get ready to enroll

Enrollment is completed online through ParentVUE. Gather the required documents before beginning so the process can be completed more efficiently.

  1. Confirm your home school

    Use the district address tool to identify the elementary school assigned to your residence.

  2. Gather your documents

    Prepare the child’s birth certificate, residency documentation, current utility bill, immunization record, and parent or guardian photo identification.

    Review all required documents

  3. Complete online enrollment

    New families create a ParentVUE account. Current or returning RCS families sign in to their existing account and select Online Registration.

  4. Watch for school communication

    Your school will share building-specific information about welcome events, classroom placement, supplies, and the beginning-of-year schedule.
